Suited for Success began as an organization focused on meeting the needs of women entering the workforce. Over the years, our focus has expanded to include services to men and youth. We have a formal affiliation with Career Gear, which focuses on the needs of men. In recent years, we have seen the men’s program catch-up in size to the women’s program.
East Little Havana/Overtown Initiative
Funded by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, this program reaches out to targeted
communities within Miami-Dade County, specifically East Little Havana and Overtown. As a
result of this partnership, Suited for Success provides job skills training and interview
appropriate clothing to approximately 500 individuals annually. The program is offered on-site
at facilities provided by partnering community organizations.
South Florida Workforce Suited for Success has maintains a long-standing partnership with South Florida Workforce. We maintain a clothing boutique at the Northside OneStop Career Service Center. Job skills training and clothing are provided to South Florida Workforce clients referred through the OneStop system.
